Enhance the Breasts with Your Natural Tissue

A fat transfer breast augmentation at our Beverly Hills office involves two distinct steps. The first removes fat via liposuction from another area of your body, such as the tummy, buttocks, or thighs.

Once a sufficient amount of fat has been removed, Dr. Firouz will purify the cells and inject them into your breasts to enhance and shape the area. It is a lower-risk procedure when compared to breast implants and can result in an exquisitely natural outcome.

The Procedure

Your fat transfer breast augmentation will be done under general anesthesia. To begin, Dr. Firouz will perform liposuction on your tummy, thighs, or buttocks to harvest fat. Once he has accumulated enough fat for the procedure, he will purify those cells in a centrifuge. Using special syringes, he will inject the purified fat into your breast tissue.

Your Recovery

Once the fat transfer is complete, Dr. Firouz will wrap your breasts in a bandage to help the transferred fat settle. You should plan to take about one week off from your daily routine.

For about three weeks, you can expect pain, bruising, and swelling in your breasts and the areas that received liposuction. As you heal, Dr. Firouz will advise you to sleep on your back to avoid disrupting your new breast tissue, take pain relievers as directed, and wear loose-fitting clothing.

Fat Transfer or Implants
Which Option Is Right for You?

Choosing between these two breast surgeries is a personal decision that Dr. Firouz can help you with. The primary benefit of a Beverly Hills fat transfer breast augmentation is that the outcome is very natural because it uses your own fat cells. It also means you will not need to replace implants every 10 to 15 years, and there is no risk of capsular contracture or an implant rupture.

On the other hand, a fat transfer breast augmentation produces a more modest increase in breast size by one to two cups. If you want larger breasts, you will need to have breast implants placed.

Breast Augmentation Fat TransferFAQs

What are the risks of a breast augmentation fat transfer?

This is generally a safe procedure using your own tissue, but risks can include bleeding, infection, and fat necrosis, where some transferred fat does not survive.

Where will Dr. Firouz harvest the fat from?

Fat is typically taken from areas such as the abdomen, thighs, or flanks, depending on where sufficient fat is available and your overall goals.

How much of the transferred fat will survive long term?

Not all of the transferred fat will remain. A portion is naturally reabsorbed, while the remaining fat establishes a blood supply and becomes part of the breast.

Can fat transfer breast augmentation be repeated?

Yes, some patients choose to have additional sessions to build more volume over time if desired.

Will there be scarring after the procedure?

Scarring is minimal and typically limited to the small incisions used for liposuction and injection, which tend to heal discreetly.

Will I lose fat from the transferred area if I lose weight later?

Yes, transferred fat behaves like normal fat in your body. Weight changes can affect the size of your results over time.

How long should I avoid exercise after surgery?

Light activity can usually resume within a couple of weeks, while more strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks to support proper healing.
