What is RF Microneedling?

Radio frequency (RF) microneedling is an anti-aging, non-surgical treatment that combines microneedling with the power of RF energy. The device creates micro-wounds in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, and then administers RF heat through those wounds to enhance the rejuvenating effects.

Your Sylfirm X RF Microneedling Experience

When you arrive at our Beverly Hills office for your appointment, we will begin by applying a topical numbing agent to your skin. Then, we will place the Sylfirm X wand on the treatment area to pulse gentle RF energy to create microchannels in your skin. Most people tolerate the Sylfirm X treatment well and do not experience much pain. Once the procedure is done, we will apply exosomes to the treated area to promote rapid growth and support your body’s collagen production.

RF Microneedling vs Traditional Microneedling

The main difference between the two approaches is that RF microneedling harnesses the power of radiofrequency technology to amplify its results. For that reason, RF microneedling is more intensive than the traditional version.

Dr. Firouz has found that combining RF energy with microneedling requires fewer sessions and produces faster and longer-lasting results. During your initial consultation at our office, he will discuss these two approaches with you and help you determine which one is in your best interest.

RF MicroneedlingFAQs

Am I a candidate for RF microneedling?

RF microneedling is a safe treatment for all skin types and tones. It is not a suitable choice if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you have an active skin infection or a history of abnormal scarring.

How many sessions will I need?

We typically recommend three sessions initially, followed by a yearly maintenance visit.

How soon will I see results after RF microneedling?

Some improvement in skin texture can be seen within a few weeks, with continued enhancement over time as collagen production increases.

Can RF microneedling be used on areas other than the face?

Yes, it can be performed on areas such as the neck, chest, and body to improve texture, tone, and mild skin laxity.

Will RF microneedling make my skin peel?

Unlike some resurfacing treatments, peeling is usually minimal. You may experience light flaking or dryness as your skin renews.

What does the treatment feel like?

With a topical numbing agent, most patients experience only mild heat or pressure during treatment.

Can I wear makeup after RF microneedling?

You may be advised to wait about 24 hours before applying makeup to allow your skin to recover.

Are the results of RF microneedling permanent?

Results can be long-lasting, but natural aging continues. Maintenance treatments are often recommended to preserve your results over time.
